If you haven’t been to The Colony in the last few years, you have no idea what you are missing out on. Since the construction of Nebraska Furniture Mart, The Colony has started to become the next “go-to” spot. Amazing food spots like Lava Cantina, Hard Eight Barbecue and a second Truck Yard, plus a new mixed-use center called Grandscape reshaped The Colony into a force to be reckoned with. It’s here that we find Andretti Indoor Karting & Games.

Named after Mario Andretti, one of the world’s most famous race car drivers, there’s a lot of fun to be had inside this very unassuming building. The main attraction is a three level race track built for some extreme go-kart racing. There are options for drivers of all ages (Junior and Intermediate Races) or drivers who actually hold a driver’s license (Adult Races). And these go-karts are fast, hitting speeds up to 35 MPH!! This can be quite thrilling and quite dangerous. Luckily, safety features abound, ranging from safety briefings, to carts that are fully wrapped to protect your legs, and safety barriers that seemed to be inspired by NASCAR.

In addition to going fast, there are three VR experiences that involve multiple players, a huge arcade area, a ropes course, bowling and even laser tag!
And, when you are done playing, there are plenty of options to get your grub on. The main dining area offers freshly made food, including burgers and ribs. There is an Asian fusion option for some tasty bowl dishes and Mama Andretti’s offers some great Italian food, including pizza and calzones. And, don’t forget to grab a finely crafted mixed drink, draft beer or even wine from Mario Andretti’s own vineyard.

No matter how you choose to spend your time, you are bound to have a ton of fun! So, if there is a downside to this place though, it’s that it can be a bit pricier that local alternatives like Main Event or Dave and Buster’s. But, the level of sophistication here is a bit higher than Main Event or Dave and Buster’s. So, you get what you pay for.
